Odelia Torteman is a Global FinTech & Digital Transformation Specialist at IFC– a member of the World Bank Group and the largest global development institution focusing on investments in the private sector in emerging markets. Under her role, Odelia focuses on utilizing IFC’s capital, expertise and influence to create markets and opportunities where they are most needed, developing investments opportunities in riskier markets by proactively working in these countries to create, deepen and expand the markets themselves. As part of IFC’s Digital Finance practice, Odelia operates globally in providing a wide umbrella of investments and advisory solutions for Financial Institutions across their digital journeys, while achieving strong profitability and development impact.  Prior joining IFC, Odelia led Deloitte’s FinTech & Blockchain practice for 5 years, where she worked closely with divers global FIs and enterprises, FinTechs, technology companies and VCs.  Before joining Deloitte, Odelia worked at the Office of the Chief Scientist under the Ministry of Economy (currently Israel Innovation Authority) at ISERD-  Israel’s official entity responsible for the integration of Israeli entities within the European R&D and Technology arena. In 2018 Odelia was selected by TheMarker Business Magazine as one of 40 Under 40 Promising Young Practitioners.  She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Master’s is Strategy & Diplomacy (Magna Cum Lauda) and is currently a PhD Candidate focusing on CBDC and the Monetary System.
